Dinesh bought a mobile for Rs 8000 and sold it for Rs 6400. Find his profit or loss percent .
Given: Dinesh bought a mobile for Rs 8000 and sold it for Rs 6400.
Cost price of mobile (CP) = ₹ 8000
Selling price of mobile (SP) = ₹ 6400
To find: We have to find the profit or loss percentage.
Solution:
Now,
Loss = CP $-$ SP
Loss = ₹ 8000 $-$ ₹ 6400
Loss = ₹ 1600
So,
$loss\ \%\ =\frac{loss}{CP} \ \times 100$
$loss\ \%\ =\frac{1600}{8000} \ \times 100\ =\ 20\ \%\ $.
