Describe how you will locate a current-carrying wire concealed in a wall.

We know that a current-carrying wire produces a magnetic field. Therefore, we can locate a current-carrying wire concealed in a wall by detecting the magnetic field produced by the wire. It is done with the help of a plotting compass.

For example, if a plotting compass is moved on a wall, its needle will show deflection at the place where the current-carrying wire is concealed.
