Describe equivalent fractions with examples.

When two or more fractions have different numerator and denominator but result in the same value after simplification are said to be equivalent fractions.

The examples of equivalent fractions are:

$\frac{2}{4} and \frac{3}{6}, \frac{6}{12}$

$\frac{1}{3}and \frac{3}{9}.\frac {4}{12}$

$\frac{1}{5,}and \frac{5}{25},\frac{ 6}{30}$

$\frac{3}{4}and \frac{ 12}{16}, \frac{8}{24}$

$\frac{2}{4},  \frac{3}{6}, and \frac{6}{12}$ are equivalent fractions of $\frac{1}{2}$ as $\frac{2}{4}$= $\frac{1}{2}$ on simplification

     $\frac{3}{6}$=  $\frac{1}{2}$ on simplification

     $ \frac{6}{12} = \frac{1}{2}$ on simplification
