Describe briefly the 'khadin' system of rainwater harvesting practised in Rajasthan.

Khadin is an inside construction designed with an aim to harvest surface runoff water for agriculture. It works on the principle of harvesting rainwater on farmland that is to be used for crop production.

In this rainwater harvesting method based in Rajasthan, a long embankment known as a bund was built across sloping farmlands to stop the flowing rainwater and form a reservoir.
