Describe an activity to show that solution of salt in water can conduct electricity.


Procedure:

Step 1.Take a beaker and fill it half with water.

Step 2.Dissolve some common salt in this water.

Step 3.Connect two graphite rods with the end terminal of a battery, with a zero watt bulb in between.

Step 4.Now dip the graphite rods in the solution of salt and water.


Observation:

The bulb starts glowing indicating the flow of current.


Inference:

This shows that a salt solution can conduct electricity.
