Define the term electrical resistivity of a material.

Resistivity is defined as the resistance offered by a conductor having unit length and unit cross-sectional area, and it depends on the nature of the substance and temperature. It is denoted by $\rho$ (rho).

Mathematically it is given as-

$\rho=\frac {R\times A}{l}$

where,

$\rho=Resistivity$

$R=Resistance$

$A=Cross-sectional\ Area$

$l=Length$
