Define Tissue. Give an example.


Tissues are groups of cells that have a similar structure that acts together to perform a specific function. 

The word "tissue" derives from the French word "tissu", which means something that is "woven"


Then, organs are formed by grouping together of multiple tissues according to their function.

There are 'four' different types of tissues found in animal: 

1. Connective Tissue

2. Muscle Tissue

3. Nervous Tissue, and

4. Epithelial Tissue


There are 'three' different types of tissues found in plants:

1. Vascular Tissue

2. Ground Tissue, and

3. Epidermal Tissue
