Define chromatography with application.

Chromatography is a separation technique that works on the principle where molecules of the mixture are fixed onto the surface and liquid stationary phases separates from each other as it moves with the help of mobile phase.

Mobile phase is the liquid in which the mixture is dissolved and  carries it through stationary phase holding another material. The various constituents of the mixture travel at different speeds, causing them to separate.

Application:

Chromatography is used in the protein separation, insulin purification, plasma fractionation and enzyme purification.
