Deficiency of iron leads to-
(a) anaemia (b) goitre (c) marasmus (d) rickets

(a) anaemia

Iron deficiency causes anaemia, a condition in which blood lacks adequate healthy oxygen-carrying red blood cells.

Iron is an important component of haemoglobin, without enough iron, our body can't produce adequate protein in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen (haemoglobin) from the lungs and transports it to every cell in the body. As a result, iron deficiency anaemia may leave you tired and short of breath.
