Classify each of the following as a homogeneous or heterogeneous mixture: soda water, wood, air. soil, vinegar, filtered tea.

Homogeneous: Soda water, vinegar, filtered tea.
Heterogeneous: Wood, air, soil.

[Extra information: Matter can be broken down into two categories: pure substances and mixtures.

Pure substances are further broken down into elements and compounds.
Examples: Gold, Oxygen, Nitrogen

Mixtures consist of two or more different kinds of particles or two or more pure substances mixed together but not chemically bound.
Example: The sugar solution is a mixture because it can be separated into its constituents by physical processes (like evaporation). It shows the properties of both sugar and water.
Mixtures in which the constituting substances are mixed together completely and are indistinguishable from one another are called homogeneous mixtures. Such mixtures have a homogeneous composition of their substances throughout the solution.
Examples: Sugar solution, salt solution
Mixtures in which the constituting substances remain separated and one substance is spread throughout the other substance as small particles, droplets or bubbles is known as heterogeneous mixtures.
Examples: Starch solution, soap solution.]
