Classification of Elements.

Grouping of elements into different classes is called the periodic classification of elements. This is done by arranging the elements that are alike and separating the elements that are unlike. It helps us to understand how different elements form different compounds. Elements are classified into groups, periods, alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, halogens, and noble gases.
