Can we categorise edible and non-edible items?
Edible comes from the Latin word edere, which means "to eat". Anything that people can safely eat without getting sick is described as edible. Eg: fruits, vegetables, the meat of certain animals. Non-edible is defined as anything that we cant eat if we consume it will make us sick. Eg: plastic toys, some foods are poisonous like certain types of mushrooms.
