No, we cannot use a clinical thermometer to measure the temperature of boiling water.

This is because the range of a clinical thermometer is only between 35^o Celsius to 42^o Celsius. The temperature of boiling water will be nearly 100^o Celsius.

In fact the clinical temperature is likely to break at such high temperature due to sudden expansion.
