1. When metals react with bases they're acidic or basic?2. When metals react with acid they're acidic or basic?

1. When an acid reacts with metal, it produces a salt and hydrogen
                             Acid + Metal → Salt + Hydrogen

For example, Nitric Acid + Calcium → Calcium Nitrate + Hydrogen
The salt that is produced depends upon which acid and which metal react.

2. When base reacts with certain metals like zinc or aluminium, it produces hydrogen gas.
For example, sodium hydroxide reacts with zinc and water to form sodium zincate and hydrogen gas.
                    Zn (s) + 2NaOH (aq) + 2H2O (l) → Na2Zn(OH)(aq) + H2(g)
