Arun completes two rounds of a circular track of radius $50m\ in\ 40s$. What will be the distance covered and the displacement at the end of $2\ min\ 40s$?

Given: Arun completes two rounds of a circular track of diameter 50m in 40 s.

To find: distance covered and the displacement at the end of 2 minutes 40 s

Solution:

The distance he travels in 40 sec is $2\times 2 \pi  \times 50 = 200\pi$

Total time given is 2 min 40 sec = 160sec

= 40 $ \times $ 4

Therefore, he travels $4\times 2$ rounds.

Therefore the distance traveled = $4 \times 200\pi = 800\pi$.

Displacement is nothing but the distance between the final point and initial point.

At the end of 2 min and 40 sec, he would be exactly at the starting point.

Therefore, the displacement is 0
