is wide find its perimeter


Given: A single sheet of paper is $\frac{25}{2}$cm long and $\frac{32}{3}$ cm wide


To find: The perimeter.


Solution: Perimeter of rectangle  =  2 (Length + breadth)

Length  =  $\frac{25}{2}$  cm

Breadth  =  $\frac{32}{3}$cm

  Perimeter of rectangle  =  2 $\frac{25}{2}$ + $\frac{32}{3}$

 $\frac{25}{2}$ + $\frac{32}{3}$

LCM of 2 , 3 is 6

so, $\frac{25 \times 3} {2 \times3}  +  \frac{32 \times 2} {3 \times 2}   =  \frac{75}{ 6}  +  \frac{64}{ 6}$

$\frac{75 + 64}{6}   =  \frac{139}{6}$

Perimeter  =  $2 \frac{139 }{6}$                          [2 $\times$ 3  = 6]

Perimeter  =  $\frac{139 }{3}$  cm

Therefore the perimeter is  $\frac{139 }{3}$
