Are chromosomes found in DNA?
No, Chromosomes aren't found in DNA, they are thread-like structures located "inside the nucleus" of animal and plant cells.
Each chromosome is made of protein and a single molecule of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
The structure of chromosomes keeps DNA tightly wrapped around spool-like proteins called histones. Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46 chromosomes.
DNA contains the specific instructions that make each type of living creature unique.
