Acids are used in industries. Some of the acids that are used in Industries are:

1. Benzoic acid - the salt used to preserve food.

2. Carbonic acid - used to make carbonated drinks.

3. Ethanoic acid - used to clean metals before electroplating/processing leather/household cleaning/ maintenance of swimming pools.

4. Nitric acid - used in the production of fertilizers, explosives, dissolution of metals-extraction and purification of gold.

5. Sulphuric acid - to make fertilizers, polymer, and detergent.

6. Tartaric acid - manufacturing of sodas, gives tartness flavour to food and used as an emetic- substance to make someone vomit.
