To find:  Find the probability that the ball drawn is white.


Solution:

Number of red balls = 10

Number of white balls = 8

Total number of possible events = 18

Number of favourable events, the event of drawing a white ball = 8

So probability of drawing a white ball

= $\frac{Number\ of\ favourable\ events}{Number\ of\ possible\ events}$

= $\frac{8}{18}$ = $\frac{4}{9}$ Answer

Therefore the probability of drawing a white ball is $\frac{4}{9}$
