An angle is twice its supplement. Find the measure of the angle.

Given :

An angle is twice its supplement.

To do :

We have to find the measure of the angle.

Solution :

Let one angle be x.

Two angles are supplement if the sum of their measure is 180°.

The measure of its supplement is $180°-x$.

Therefore,

$x=2(180°-x)$

$x=360°-2x$

$x+2x=360°$

$3x=360°$

$x=\frac{360°}{3}$

$x=120°$.

$180-120 = 60°$

The measure of the angle is 120°.
