Amarchand sold a carton of sweaters for rupees 28200 and incurring a loss of 6% what was his cost price?

Given:

Amarchand sold a carton of sweaters for Rupees 28200 incurring a loss of 6%.
To do:

We have to find the cost price.
Solution:
Selling price of the sweaters $=Rs.\ 28200$

Loss percentage $=6 \%$

Let the cost price be $x$.

This implies,

$6=\frac{x-28200}{x}\times100$

$6x=100x-2820000$    (On cross multiplication)

$100x-6x=2820000$

$94x=2820000$

$x=\frac{2820000}{94}$

$x=30000$

The cost price of the carton of sweaters is $Rs.\ 30000$.
