Air and Tap Water are mixtures. Explain.
Mixtures are physically combined structures that can be separated into their original components.
Air is the general name for the mixture of gases that makes up the Earth's atmosphere. It consists of
• nitrogen (78%).
• oxygen (21%).
• water vapour (variable).
• argon (0.9%).
• carbon dioxide (0.04%).
• trace gases.
Tap water is a mixture of water, minerals like calcium and magnesium, bicarbonate, and chlorine, which is added to it to disinfect it. There may also be contaminants in tap water.
