Add the following rational numbers:
$ \frac{-5}{9}+\frac{7}{15} $

Given:

\( \frac{-5}{9}+\frac{7}{15} \)

To do:

We have to add the given rational numbers.
Solution:

$\frac{-5}{9}+\frac{7}{15}=\frac{-5\times5+7\times3}{45}$    (LCM of 9 and 15 is 45)

$=\frac{-25+21}{45}$

$=\frac{-4}{45}$

Therefore, $\frac{-5}{9}+\frac{7}{15}=\frac{-4}{45}$.
