According to the visible spectrum wavelength (ROYGBIV), violet is at the bottom of the list which shows it is the shortest wavelength among all, so it should be the most refracted (scattered) light wave. Then, why do the sky, and the bottom colour of the rainbow appear blue, instead of violet?


This happens because the sun emits a higher concentration of blue light waves in comparison to violet. Also, our eyes are more sensitive to blue rather than violet, that's why the sky, and the bottom colour of the rainbow appear blue, instead of violet
