A wooden block measures 24cm by 18cm by 15cm . How many cubical blocks of edge 6cm can be cut from it ?

Given: A wooden block measures 24cm by 18cm by 15cm.

To do: How many cubical blocks of edge 6cm can be cut from it.

Solution:

Volume of wooden block = $24 \times 18 \times 15$

                                              = 6480 cubic cm

Volume of cube = $6 \times 6 \times 6$

                              = 216 cm cube

No. cubes that can be cut from wooden block = $\frac{6480}{216}$

                                                                                   = 30 blocks

Therefore , 30 cubicle blocks of edge 6cm cam be cut from it.
