(a) What term is used to denote the change of velocity with time ?
(b) Give one word which means the same as ‘moving with a negative acceleration’.
(c) The displacement of a moving object in a given interval of time is zero. Would the distance travelled by the object also be zero ? Give reason for your answer.

(a) The change of velocity with time is termed acceleration of the moving body.

(b) Retardation is termed as "moving with a negative acceleration".

(c) If the displacement of a moving object in a given time interval is zero, it never means that the distance traveled by the moving object is also zero. As shown in the figure below:

An object starts moving from point $A$ around a square-shaped field and after completing the round via points $B$, $C$ and $D$ it reaches back to point $A$.

Here, as it comes back to its original position, so there is no change in position. Therefore, displacement is zero.

But the distance traveled is the sum of the length of the total path traveled.

Distance $=AB+BC+CD+DA$
