Solution:
Let $a$ be the side of square.
$\Rightarrow a^2=8\frac{73}{144}$
$\Rightarrow a^2=\frac{1152+73}{144}$
$\Rightarrow a^2=\frac{1225}{144}$
$\Rightarrow a=\sqrt{\frac{1225}{144}}$
$\Rightarrow a=\sqrt{\frac{35\times35}{12\times12}}$
$\Rightarrow a=\frac{35}{12}$
Thus, the side of the square is $\frac{35}{12}\ m$.
