A sharp point of a pencil shine while an eraser does not. why?
The sharp point of the pencil is also called the lid which is made up of graphite. On sharpening the pencil the bare surface of the graphite is obtained, as graphite is shiny in nature, hence the tip of the pencil shines.
In the case of the eraser, it is made up of rubber, which is a non-metal and hence it does not shine.
