A Rectangular sheet of paper is  $\displaystyle 12\frac{1}{2} \ cm\ $ and $\displaystyle 10\frac{2}{3} \ cm\ $ wide. Find its Perimeter.

Given :

Length of Rectangular sheet = $\displaystyle 12\frac{1}{2} \ cm\ $

Breadth of Rectangular sheet = $\displaystyle 10\frac{2}{3} \ cm\ $

To Find :

The perimeter of Rectangular Sheet.

Solution :

Formula to find Perimeter of Rectangle = $\displaystyle 2\ ( Length\ +\ Breadth)$

Length = $12\frac{1}{2}=\frac{12\times 2+1}{2} = \frac{25}{2}$ cm

Breadth = $10\frac{2}{3} =\frac{10\times 3+2}{3} =\frac{32}{3}$ cm

$2( Length+Breadth) = 2(\frac{25}{2}+\frac{32}{3})$

Take LCM, LCM of 2, 3 is 6.

$=2(\frac{25\times 3}{2\times 3}+\frac{32\times 2}{3\times 2}$

$=2(\frac{75}{6} +\frac{64}{6})$

$=2(\frac{75+64}{6})$

$=2(\frac{139}{6})$

$=\frac{139}{3}=46\frac{1}{3}$

Perimeter of Rectangular sheet = $46\frac{1}{3} \ cm$.
