A number is $\frac{2}{5}$ times another number. If there sum is 70. Find the number.

Given: A number is  $\frac{2}{5}$ times another number. If their sum is 70. 

To do: Find the number. 

Solution:

Let one number be y.

Another number => $\frac{2}{5} \times y$ = $\frac{2y}{5}$

Their sum => $y + \frac{2y}{5} =  \frac{7y}{5} = 70$

$y = 70 \times \frac{5}{7} = 50$

So the required number = 50.  Answer
