(a) Name a device that helps to measure the potential difference across a conductor.
(b) How much energy is transferred by a 12 V power supply to each coulomb of charge which it moves around a circuit?

(a) Voltmeter is a device that helps to measure the potential difference across a conductor.

(b)
 Given: Potential difference, V = 12 V, and Charge = 1 Coulomb

When a charge Q moves between two points whose potential difference is V, the amount of work done is given by

$W = Q \times V$

Here, the energy transferred is nothing but work done by the battery.

$W = 12 \times 1$

$W = 12 \ joule$

So, 12 joule energy is transferred by a 12 V power supply to each coulomb of charge which it moves around a circuit
