(a) How does chemical coordination take place in human beings?
(b) Why is the use of iodised salt advisable?

(a) Chemical coordination takes place through hormones in human beings, which are released directly into the blood and are carried by the blood circulatory system to other parts of the body. But it affects only particular organs at particular places which are called target organs.

It instructs the brain to control and coordinate several functions of the body such as growth, development, metabolism, behaviour and secondary sexual characteristics, etc.

(b) The use of iodised salt is advisable because iodized salt contains iodine which helps thyroid gland in making sufficient thyroxine hormone for the body and hence goitre disease can be prevented.
