A cuboidal vessel is $ 10 \mathrm{~m} $ long and $ 8 \mathrm{~m} $ wide. How high must it be made to hold 380 cubic metres of a liquid?
Given:
A cubical vessel is $10\ m$ long and $8\ m$ wide.
To do:
We have to find the height of the vessel to hold $380$ cubic metres of a liquid.
Solution:
Length of the vessel $(l) = 10\ m$
Breadth of the vessel $(b) = 8\ m$
Let the height of the vessel be $h$.
Therefore,
Volume $= 380\ m^3$
Height $(h)=\frac{\text { Volume }}{l \times b}$
$=\frac{380}{10 \times 8}$
$=4.75 \mathrm{~m}$
The height of the vessel must be $4.75\ m$.
