A certain form of energy which is not sourced directly or indirectly from the sun and does not cause any pollution is very easily converted into electricity. This form of energy is, however, not available everywhere. Moreover, it is technically very difficult and expensive to obtain it. Name the form of energy.
It is geothermal energy, which is not sourced directly or indirectly from the sun and does not cause any pollution. It can be converted into electricity very easily. Also, it is not available everywhere and is technically very difficult and expensive to obtain.
Explanation
Geothermal energy is the heat energy obtained from hot rocks present inside the earth due to the fission of radioactive materials in it.
To generate electricity, the extremely hot rocks present below the surface of the earth, heat the underground water and turn it into steam. As more and more steam is formed between the rocks, it gets compressed to high pressures. Therefore, a hole is drilled into the earth up to the hot rocks and a pipe is put into it so that the steam present around the rocks comes up through the pipe at high pressure, and can run the turbine of a generator. Thus, electricity is produced.
