A cement company earns a profit of $₹\ 9$ per bag of white cement sold and a loss of $₹\ 5$ per bag of grey cement sold. The company sells $7000$ bags of white cement and $6000$ bags of grey cement for a month. What is its profit or loss?
Given: Profit for selling each white cement bag $=₹\ 9$ and Loss for selling each grey cement bag $=₹\ 5$.
To do: To find the profit or loss if the company sells $7000$ bags of white cement and $6000$ bags of grey cement for a month.
Solution:
Bags of white cement sold by the company $=7,000$
Bags of grey cement sold by the company $=6,000$
Therefore, profit earned by the company $=7,000\times9=₹\ 63,000$
Loss incurred by the company $=6,000\times5=₹\ 30,000$
Here $Profit=₹\ 63,000$ is more than $loss=₹\ 30,000$
Therefore, profit earned by the company$=₹\ 63,000-₹\ 30,000=₹\ 33,000$
