A car moves with a speed of 40km/h for 15 minutes and then with a speed of 60 km/h for the next 15 minutes. Find the total distance covered by the car in these 30 minutes.
Solution:
$ Distance = Time \times Speed$
Distance1 = $15 min \times 40 kmph$
= $\frac{15}{60} h \times 40 kmph$
= 10 km
Distance2 = $15 min \times 60 kmph$
= $\frac{15}{60} h \times 60 kmph$
= 15 km
Total distance = 10 km + 15 km = 25 km
