A car covers 20 km using 1 L of petrol. Find the distance it can cover using $5\frac{1}{5}$ L of petrol.
Given: A car covers 20 km using 1 L of petrol.
To find: Here we have to find how much distance car can cover using $5\frac{1}{5}$ L of petrol.
Solution:
$5\frac{1}{5}\ =\ \frac{26}{5}$
Now,
Distance covered by car using 1 L petrol = 20 km
So,
Distance covered by car using $5\frac{1}{5}$ L petrol = 20 $\times\ \frac{26}{5}$ km
Distance covered by car using $5\frac{1}{5}$ L petrol = 4 $\times$26 km
Distance covered by car using $5\frac{1}{5}$ L petrol = 104 km
So, distance covered by car using $5\frac{1}{5}$ L petrol is 104 km.
