A box of $600$ bulbs contains$ 12$ defective bulbs. One bulb is taken out at random from this box. Then, find the probability that it is non-defective bulb.
Given: A box of$ 600$ bulbs contains$ 12$ defective bulbs. One bulb is taken out at random from this box.
To do: To find the probability that it is non-defective bulb.
Solution:
Total number of bulbs $=600$
No. of defective bulbs$=12$
Total number of non-defective bulb $=600-12=588$
$Probability\ ( non- defective\ bulbs) = \frac{Number\ of\ favourable\ outcomes}{Total\ number\ of\ possible\ outcomes}=\frac{588}{600}$
$=0.98$
Thus, the probability to be a non- defective bulb is $0.98$.
