A box contains 2 white balls,1 black ball, 2 red balls, and a green ball. 2 Balls are taken randomly from the box. What is the probability that 2 balls are white?

Given :

A box contains 2 white balls,1 black ball, 2 red balls, and a green ball.

Two balls are taken randomly from the box.

To do :

We have to find the probability of getting two white balls.

Solution :

Number of white balls $=2$

Total number of balls $= 2+1+2+1=6$

Probability of getting 2 white balls $= \frac{Number of white balls}{Tota number of balls}$

                                                               $= \frac{2}{6}$

                                                               $=\frac{1}{3}$

Therefore, the probability of getting white balls is $\frac{1}{3}$.
