A ball of mass $200\ g$ falls from a height of $5\ metres$. What is its kinetic energy when it just reaches the ground? $(g=9.8 m/s^2)$.
Here given, mass of the ball $m=200\ kg=0.2\ kg$
Height $h=5\ m$
Gravitational acceleration $g=9.8\ m/s^2$
Therefore, the potential energy of the ball $P=mgh$
$=0.2\times9.8\times5$
$=9.8\ Joule$
When the boll reaches the ground, its total energy gets converted
into kinetic energy.
Therefore, the kinetic energy of the ball is $9.8\ m/s^2$.
