A 720 cm long rope is used to make a rectangular shape of length 240 cm. Find the breadth of the shape of obtained.

Given: Length of rope = 720 cm, Length of rectangle = 240 cm

To find: Breadth of the rectangle

Solution:

Perimeter of rectangle=720cm

So,

$2(L+B)= 720 cm$

$2(240+B)=720$

$480+2B=720$

$2B= 720-480$

$2B=240$

$B=\frac{240}{2}$

So,

B= 120cm

Hence, the breadth of rectangle is 120cm
