Given: 26 subtracted from 3 times a number gives 19

To do: Find the number.

Solution:

Lets take the number as $x$

3 times the number is  $3 x$

26  Subtracted from 3 times a number gives 19.

so,    $3 x  - 26  =  19$

$3 x  =   19 + 26$

$3 x   =  45$

$x    =   \frac{45}{ 3}$

 $x =   15$

Therefore, the number is 15.
