If a family is chosen at random
Given:
1500 families with 2 children were selected randomly.
A family is chosen at random.
To do:
We have to find the probability that it has no girl.
Solution:
Total number of outcomes $=1500$
Number of families which have no girl $=211$
We know that,
Probability of an event=$ \frac{Number \ of \ favourable \ outcomes}{Total \ number \ of \ outcomes}$
Therefore,
Probability that the family has no girl $=\frac{211}{1500}$
$=0.1406$
This implies,
The probability that it has no girl is $0.1406$.
