One electron is present in the outer most shell of the atom of an element X. What would be the nature and value of charge on the ion formed if this electron is removed from the outer most shell?

When electrons are lost, the positive charge that is number of protons becomes more than the negative charge that is electrons. Hence, the nature of the charge on the ion is positive. As one electron is lost, the value of the charge is one.

[Extra information: Ions are formed when one or more electron/s are lost or gained by an atom of the element. As the number of negative and positive charges in an atom is equal, it is electrically neutral. ]
