How to apply for a duplicate driving license in India?
One can apply for a duplicate license under the following circumstances: Either the original driving license was dropped somewhere accidentally or it was stolen by someone. You can apply for the duplicate license either online or offline.
Online Method
Download the LLD form online from the website-
Click on the upload option to upload all the necessary documents.
Get the printout.
Fill in all the details properly and paste the photographs on it.
Sign the form.
Handover the form at the RTO office from where you originally got your Driving License. Submit all necessary documents.
Once this is done, the duplicate driving license will be sent to your registered house address via post. It might happen that you will be given a receipt which can be used in place of the driving license until you get your duplicate driving license.
Offline Method
Visit the RTO that issued your Driving License. Get a Form LLD which is for the duplicate driving license.
Fill the form completely and sign it.
Submit it and attach all necessary documents as asked.
You will be required to pay a nominal penalty fee for getting your duplicate driving license.
The duplicate driving license will be sent to your registered house address via post.
Thus, these are the ways in which one can apply for a duplicate driving license without any inconvenience.
