For question numbers 14, 15 and 16, two statements are given- one labeled Assertion (A) and other labeled Reason (R). Select the correct answer to these questions from the codes (a) Assertion (a), (b), (c) and (d) as given below:
(a) Both A and R are true, and R is the correct explanation of the assertion.
(b) Both A and R are true, and R is not the correct explanation of the assertion.
(c) A is true, but R is false.
(d) A is false, but R is true.
14 | Assertion : If the net external force on the body is zero
14. (c) A is true, but R is false.
Explanation According to Newton's second law, $Acceleration=\frac{Force}{Mass}$ Therefore, if the net external force on the body is zero, F = 0. Then there is zero acceleration of a body. Thus, from the above relation, we can say that acceleration not only depends on the force applied but also on the mass of the body on which it is applied. 15. (a) Both A and R are true, and R is the correct explanation of the assertion. Explanation
Acute diseases refer to the onset of the disease that lasts for a short period, and where symptoms appear suddenly and worsen rapidly. Also, heals and disappear completely in a short period of time For example- acute illnesses like flu or common cold affect a person suddenly, worsen over a short period and then disappear. OR 15. (a) Both A and R are true, and R is the correct explanation of the assertion. Explanation Health always refers to the idea of 'being good'. So, being able to go out to the market or to visit neighbours is 'being well', and not being able to do such things is 'poor health'. Therefore, health is a state of being well enough to function well physically, mentally and socially. 16. (b) Both assertion and reason are true but the reason is not the correct explanation of assertion. Explanation
Both the statement are true but the reason is not the explanation of the assertion rather it is another true statement. Advertisements
