To do :

We have to find the LCM of the given pairs of numbers.

Solution :

(a) LCM of 5 and 20 is,

$5=1\times5$

$20=2\times 2\times5$

LCM of 5 and 20 $= 2\times 2\times5$

$= 20$

Therefore, the LCM of 5 and 20 is 20.

(b) LCM of 6 and 18 is,

$6=1\times6$

$18=2\times 3\times3$

LCM of 6 and 18 $= 2\times 3\times3$

$= 18$

Therefore, the LCM of 6 and 18 is 18.

(c) LCM of 12 and 48 is,

$12=2\times2\times3$

$48=2\times 2\times2\times2\times3$

LCM of 12 and 48 $= 2\times 2\times2\times2\times3$

$= 48$

Therefore, the LCM of 12 and 48 is 48.

(d) LCM of 9 and 45 is,

$9=3\times3$

$45=3\times 3\times5$

LCM of 9 and 45 $= 3\times 3\times5$

$= 45$

Therefore, the LCM of 9 and 45 is 45.
