Course Description
The course is designed for students who are experts in the Career field in the Native languages and taking English classes to learn how to read and understand emails at work.
This helps students to increase their knowledge of reading and understanding instructions that are given in an email by a fellow coworker or a Supervisor about an important urgent meeting, preparing for a presentation, making phone calls to other companies, complete a project with team members, knowing when co-workers will be out of the office, and finishing a work assignment to meet a deadline.
Students will have the opportunity to listen to the Agenda as a warm up exercise and discuss what they have heard, read from the reading, and what they already know about Agendas from attending Meetings, Seminars and so forth at work in small groups and tell the Instructor what they have discussed before going into the reading which is the Main idea of the lesson.
Students will be able to listen, read, discuss, identify new words, ask questions for clarification, complete a classwork assignment, and discuss ideas about their answers from the reading to help students to gain confidence to practice their speaking skills, and the meaning of new words in class.
