Every aircraft has a specified takeoff weight which is the maximum weight certified for an aircraft to make it airworthy. Before each flight, the Pilots and the safety crew calculate the maximum permissible weight based on many key factors like runway length, weather conditions, luggage capacity, number of seats in the place etc., and decide upon the quantity of fuel to be filled in.

Due to so many factors, the commercial planes almost refuel for each and every flight.
