Find the energy possessed by an object of mass 10kg when it is at a height of 10m above the ground. Take, $g=10ms^{−2}$.

Given: Mass of object $\mathrm{m}=10 \mathrm{~kg}$. Height $\mathrm{h}=6 \mathrm{~m}$.
Acceleration due to gravity $\mathrm{g}=10\mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}$

Solution:

Potential Energy of object $\mathrm{P} . \mathrm{E}=\mathrm{m} \times \mathrm{g} \times \mathrm{h}$

$\Rightarrow \mathrm{mgh}=10 \times 10 \times 6$

$=600 \mathrm{~J}$

Energy possessed by the object is 600 Joule.
